Claire Williams BA Hons DipMus Cert Ed FISM
I was born in Liverpool and began studying piano at the age of six. After graduating I established a private teaching practice. I have extensive experience as a visiting vocal and piano teacher in both
Primary, Secondary, and Further Education settings, including those settings for pupils with special educational needs.
I am a highly accomplished musician, teacher and accompanist with over three decades of experience in teaching piano and singing.
My private teaching practice caters to all ages and abilities.
My students have achieved significant success in examinations and local festivals, and many have pursued careers as professional
musicians.
Additionally I work at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre in Liverpool as a Creative Practitioner within the Arts in Health Programme,
delivering Singing for health Sessions for patients, their carers and staff.
Furthermore, I am a Professional Singing for Lung Health Leader in North Sefton, and a Singing for Health Network Practitioner.
I hold various professional positions, including:
* Liverpool representative and Treasurer for the Independent
Society of Musicians (ISM)
* Member of the Royal Society of Musicians ( RSM)
* The European Piano Teachers Association( Epta) Regional Organiser
I am delighted to be chosen as one of the judges for Southports Young Musician 2026. I am a currently a Member of the Southport Bach Choir.
